The watch world’s version of the ‘homologation special is probably the mil-spec diver.
So many of the big sports watch manufacturers have historic ties in this segment, but perhaps few can claim such a strong link as Tudor and the Marine Nationale.
This ‘homologation special’ fixed bar version features a non-date dial, a graduated bi-directional bezel and most importantly the fixed bar case, substituting spring bars for solid titanium. This FXD diver, while designed for ‘diving’, trades the traditional dive watch ethos for a design that’s more useful for sub-surface navigation - where the retrograde timing bezel is used to calculate distance to mission waypoints.
This example has barely been worn, the only distinct sign of use being the small mark on its’ bezel at the 8 o’clock area. It comes complete with both straps, boxes and all cards.
